Mental Health & Wellbeing

1 in 4 people in the UK will experience problems with their mental health each year.

Our mental health can have a huge impact on our lives.

We believe we have a responsibility to ensure everyone within our organisation has the right to live a healthy lifestyle and that mental wellbeing is maintained.

Begin with the relaxation technique to bring you into the right mindset. Allow yourself to sit in the present moment. Sitting comfortably, relax your arms down by your sides, feet gently resting on the floor. Imagine yourself walking down a leafy lane feeling very relaxed and at peace with yourself.

Health & Wellbeing Meditation

Welcome to the Health & Wellbeing team!

At Heroic Care, we are deeply committed to enhancing the health and wellbeing of our service users and staff. Through carefully designed campaigns, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Our Approach:

We have previously conducted successful campaigns on Healthy Eating and Good Foot Care, equipping our community with the tools to make positive lifestyle changes.

Current Focus Areas:

  • Tissue Viability, Bowel Management, and Sleep Hygiene: Led by our dedicated nursing team – Registered Nurse Natalie Christie, Learning Disability Nurse Amelia Boulton, and Nurse Lucy Hogg – these critical areas are essential for maintaining overall health.

  • Physical Activity and Mental Wellness: Our Inclusive Opportunities Manager Gemma Whittle is leading the Let's Get Moving campaign, encouraging physical exercise for a healthy heart, weight management, and mental clarity. Our outdoor sports sessions and rambling clubs are designed to boost vitamin D, strengthen the immune system, improve cardiovascular health, and enhance overall wellbeing.

The Power of Nature:

Spending time outdoors has profound benefits: it can lift your mood, reduce stress, improve concentration, and foster creativity. It also promotes mindfulness, grounding us in the present moment and deepening our connection to nature.

Positive Thinking, Positive Living:

As a company, we believe in solutions, not problems. Our mindset shapes our reality, and the thoughts we nurture can significantly impact our lives. Consider this: we have an estimated 60,000 to 80,000 thoughts each day. If the majority of these are negative, it can lead to feelings of inadequacy, shame, and emotional distress.

Changing Your Perspective:

Our thoughts are like seeds, with our minds as the fertile soil in which they grow. Negative thinking can hinder our progress, affecting our health, relationships, careers, and overall sense of purpose. In contrast, positive thoughts can empower us, enhance self-awareness, and guide us toward success.

The Power of Forgiveness:

Forgiveness is a vital step toward self-love and emotional freedom. It allows us to release the burdens placed upon us by others, fostering personal growth and inner peace. Remember, the negativity others try to impose is their own to bear – choose not to accept it.

Self-Care and Personal Growth:

True self-care involves being mindful of how we speak to ourselves, how we perceive our worth, and the confidence we carry into the world. By practicing gratitude and forgiveness, we open ourselves to Love, Peace, and happiness – the true foundations of a fulfilling life.

Thank you for being a part of our mission to promote a healthier, more positive world.

We recognise that there are many aspects to our lives that can affect our wellbeing.

Maintaining a positive mindset is not easy, but when we become self-aware, we are much more able to reset our thinking and become more positive about our ourselves, that we are good enough and can achieve all that we aspire to.

Most importantly – believe in yourself! We can all heal and transform our lives with the right support and mindset.
